In a perfect world where people weren’t sensitive to sprays, pesticides or insecticides we could all prowl the produce isles without having to be leary of which ones to buy organic and which ones not to buy organic to save a little money. Of course whether you like to buy organic or not we should always be washing our produce before preparing meals.
We like to do a little of both, of course it just depends on the fruit or veggie that we buy. One thing we like to consider is how thick the skin is on the fruit and what sprays and how often a spray might be used on those partuicular crops. So here is a short list of a few things we buy organic and not organic in times of need.
- Leafy Greens like spinach, kale, chard, lettuce, etc.
- Honeydew Melon
- Brussel Sprouts
- Frozen sweet peas
