Herbal Supplements For Immune Health

There are many things out there on the market to help relieve cold and flu symptoms and as I have talked about before some of those things have more harmful things in them then are good. Its been years since I have looked at a box of cough syrup, but I remember the last time I checked there was all sorts of corn syrups and red dyes in it. Why in the world would we think that something chemically formulated would help relieve our symptoms? I have put together a number of wonderful herbal supplements that you can take on a daily basis to help support immune health. Even if you have already caught a cold or flu bug you can continue to take these supplements and even double your dosage while your ill to shorten the duration of illness. I use all of these herbs on and for my children as well.

Extra Tips To Note:

**I do have to add that having a wonderfully rounded diet including lots of leafy greens, fruits and veggies helps to provide wonderful immune health as well. When sick, if you eat dairy and eggs, try to eliminate them at least until the duration of your illness is over. Dairy and eggs feed flu viruses and that’s the last thing you want to do when your trying to get over an illness. (See Medical Medium for more information on this.)

Herbal Teas (Drink 3-4 cups daily)

You can drink these teas separately or blended together. Add honey for extra healing.

  •  Rosehips
  •  Elderberry
  •  Mullein ( Great for coughs and coughs with phlegm. )
  •  Ginger and lemon
  •  Echinacea

Herbal Supplements (1-2 capsules daily)

  • Mullein Leaf
  • Olive Leaf
  • Goldenseal & Echinacea
  • Thyme

Syrups

Vitamins

  • Ester-C ( 1000 mg Daily ) ** I give my 3 yr old son 500mg daily
  • Liquid Zinc Sulfate ( 1 dropperful daily )

Food with Anti-Viral Properies

  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Onions
  • Turmeric

**You can juice ginger and turmeric together and drink it as a shot in the morning. I used to add lemon to the shot but I prefer to drink lemon in with water before I take my supplements instead now. I have heard that adding garlic to the turmeric and ginger shot can be extra healing!

Healing Broth

All of these ingredients are things that I like to put in my healing broth when one of us catches a cold! You can pick adjust and/or omit anything you like but all together this is both delicious and healing! I always love adding a ton of celery, mushroom and onion in my broth. Add all ingredients into a large pot of water, bring to a boil, let simmer with a lid on for at least an hour. Strain and enjoy! You can freeze this and enjoy at a later time or store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Season with a pinch of pink salt if desired.

  1. I recently started receiving (and thoroughly enjoying) your post after a relative of yours suggested I might like your new cookbook (and she was right). I wonder if you have any suggestions for treating a 4 month old with severe topical eczema. We’ve tried everything!

    1. Eczema is a very very tricky thing. I suffered with severe eczema nearly my entire life. I’ve been able to take it down to one dime size piece within the last couple of years by means of diet. The only thing that has ever helped me was removing dairy, eggs, gluten, corn and canola oil from my diet and implementing celery juice and more plant foods. Eczema is caused by a virus (Epstein Barr) that lives within the body, it feeds off of heavy metals such as mercury, copper, gluten, dairy, eggs, corn and canola oil and when the virus comes in contact with these irritants it creates dermatoxins and sends them to the surface of the skin. I’ve recieved this information from a book I had read and there are currently thousands of people using the same information and healing themselves from severe life-long conditions themselves. You can see hundreds of proof given accounts of people using these diet practices. The information is from a man named Anthony William. You can see many people healing on his social media pages, people YouTube about healing from his practices and on a platform called instagram there are also a ton of folks who have been using this info. People are healing from chronic illness all over the world. If the baby is breastfed it might help that mama removes those irritants from the diet. I suffered for over 20 years and it’s the ONLY thing that ever truley has helped. I recieved the information from a book called liver rescue by Anthony William he also has more information on his website if you look up eczema and Anthony William. If your open to it, it’s the only honest suggestion that I have for taking control of the eczema.
