An Easy Basil Pesto with Benefits

Basil is crowned to be one of the healthiest herbs! It is full of Vitamin K, which is essential for blood clotting. It is sometimes sweet, earthy and pungent and is delicious is most Italian dishes! Not only does it pair well with delicious tomato sauced pasta but it is a fine compliment to pesto!

Some of Basils impressive abilities include cleansing the liver! So if you are someone who drinks a lot, a pesto pasta wouldn’t hurt once in a while!

Down below is a raw and vegan basil pesto with no oil and no gluten!!

 

Delicious Basil Pesto:

1 1/2 cups of fresh Basil

1 Cup of Raw pumpkin seeds

1/4 cup of Nutritional Yeast

1/4 cup of slivered almonds

1/2 tsp salt

1-2 cloves of raw garlic

1/4-1/2 cup of water

Put all of the ingredients into a blender and pulse until completely chopped!

Add to toast, pasta, sandwiches, wraps, crackers and salads!
